Today, I upgraded to a Motorola Surfboard SB6141 Modem.
My internet speed with my old modem:
My internet speed with the new modem:
Setup was quick and easy. I connected the cable to my new modem, plugged in my router and called tech support. She collected the modem's serial number and MAC address, had me power up and open a web browser. I was forwarded to a Suddenlink sign in page where I had to verify my account. Then she had me reboot my computer, load the browser and made sure I had internet connectivity. Total time was about twenty minutes.
If you're a Suddenlink customer and haven't upgraded you modem. I recommend you do so. The speed boost was dramatic. Now I'm saving my money for a new router.
The February meeting has been rescheduled to February 26. Woody's SIG meeting for February has been cancelled.
