Spectre and Meltdown

Postby TinyJWRinLC » Wed Feb 07, 2018 5:39 pm

If you haven't heard of Spectre and Meltdown, you must be in a big bubble. How do you tell if you're affected? You could do an internet search and take a chance on downloading iffy software or you could do what I've done. Steve Gibson has written a small program to easily examine and understand any Windows system's hardware and software capability to prevent Meltdown and Spectre attacks.

This is a stand alone utility that doesn't require installation or an internet connection after it is downloaded.

Download Inspectre from GRC
Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

Beat me to it. LOL

Another tool is Spectre Meltdown CPU Checker by Ashampoo, but I like GRC's Inspectre better.
